We recommend that you always update to the latest version of Microsoft AutoUpdate (MAU).
The following table provides release history information for Microsoft AutoUpdate. The table is ordered by release date, with the most recent release date listed first. All update packages are 64-bit.
In the Microsoft Office 2011 14.7.7 Update volume window, double-click the Office 2011 14.7.7 Update application to start the update process, and then follow the instructions on the screen. Updates for my Office 365 for Mac will not work. I get the 'auto update cannot connect to the update server' message instead. All this time, I thought I was working with the most up-to-date version of Word, Excel and Powerpoint. It appears the updates have not been happening. I am still working with Office for Mac 2011. In fact, this is the only way to receive cumulative updates to Microsoft Office 2016, which, like Windows 10, no longer receives service packs in the traditional sense.
